TRAKSTAR LLC

TRAKSTAR LLC was formed in September 2002 to develop and market forensic audio watermarking products and services addressing the needs of content providers active in electronic media, recorded music, motion pictures and the Internet.

TRAKSTAR has since refocused the company's development efforts on meeting the stated need of its Motion Picture clients for a reliable and cost-effective counter-measure to the threat posed to them by in-theater camcorder piracy.

To that end, in May 2003, TRAKSTAR approached Science & Engineering Associates (now Apogen Technologies) for assistance in developing a solution.  Apogen Technologies, a major defense contractor noted for breakthroughs in both laser and sensor technology, was the ideal partner for this effort.  Apogen maintains core competencies in those areas where a technology solution to the challenge of detecting camcorders was most likely to be found and in fact,  had recently developed "SpyFinder", a  laser-based device for finding covert surveillance cameras.  Apogen's recent critical R&D in the areas of military intelligence gathering imaging systems and optical sensors for medical testing and environmental protection has contributed much to the evolution of PirateEye™.

TRAKSTAR's primary focus is on working with the Motion Picture Studios and theater owners to bring  the TRAKSTAR - PirateEye™  integrated solution to camcorder piracy to market.  The company plans to work with its potential customers to finalize the specification for the product and service and install prototype systems in selected movie theaters in 2007.

TRAKSTAR is principally owned by Gladstone Strategic Marketing LLC . GSM, in operation since 1997, is a South Florida-based developer of media services and research technologies.  The firm maintains a consulting practice serving major electronic media, Internet and marketing services companies in the areas of business development, media analytics, sales training and sales research.

Entertainment Technology Center Theater Lab

Feb. '04: TRAKSTAR successfully demonstrated the two anti-piracy technologies underlying the TRAKSTAR - PirateEye™ "In- Theater" Anti-Piracy System at the Entertainment Technology Center Theater Lab in Hollywood, CA. TRAKSTAR returned to the ETC in Nov. '04 to demonstrate several new system enhancements including the ability to detect "pinhole" camcorders. Note: PirateEye™ does not utlize LASER technology.

Attendees also observed a demonstration of the TRAKSTAR TVS audio watermark including live insertion of the watermark into exhibition audio, recovery via camcorder mic, compression / format conversion and decoding.
